We spoke to Deeptown Music about why they use Label Worx.

We spoke to Danny from Switzerland's biggest house music outlet Deeptown Music, about why they use Label Worx to run and manage their labels.

How / why did Deeptown start?
It was back in 2007 when Markus Lerch, Markus Welter, Mirco Espositio, Alex Zaugg and DJ Le Roi founded Deeptown Music. Myself, Mark Faermont, Niall Redmond, Marco Zwygart and our girls on the back office took over the label in 2012 and re-launched it in the same year.

Can you tell us the story behind your latest release?
Gary Tuohy is a good friend of us and also published by Deeptown Publishing. The first demo of the song was a cover version of a well known song. Gary decides to contact another singer which was Scarlett and didn't wanna do a cover with the music he produced - he wanted to release 'Discovery' as an original song.

How did you hear about Label Worx?
I already got some promos from different labels which used the Promo Service from Label Worx. I spent a few hours to check out what they do. We're really happy with all the stuff Label Worx is doing for us.

What does Label Worx do for you and your label?
Everything!!! We use all the services Label-Worx offer. The most useful is the royalty system.

What have been the biggest problems that you have faced running a label?
I believe the biggest problem we have is to keep the attention on our Label. Releases are old after 2 weeks nowadays. In this short time you need to get the best attention you can create on all the platforms you have. Back in the day, a release had more time to breathe if you know what I mean.

How has the industry changed in terms of running a label. How do you stay ahead of the curve?
I guess it's not a secret that the digital world is huge these days. Everything changes so fast and you need to be up to date so that you can split the useful services from the crap. I remember, when we sent out the first release by E-Mail we got a huge amount of feedback; these days you see the release way before you send it out as a promo on all the social media services. Not sure if that is good or bad. It's hard to keep enough attention for your label with all releases you put out because the amount of releases which come out every day/week is massive.

What does Label Worx do that no other distribution company does?
As I said before, the royalty system from Label Worx is one of the best and I believe no other distributor has nearly the same.

How would you sum up Label Worx in one sentence?
The best distributor and partner an underground dance label can have.

We are proud to welcome 'Bla Bla' to the Label Worx family.

Besides being a solid international music label of head honcho Daniel Sanchez, Bla Bla Music focusses on club nights, weekly podcasts and even a DJ/producer school. It was 8 years ago, when Bla Bla hosted its first club nights in Studio 80 in Amsterdam. These events were highly attended and were a great success, meanly because minimal techno really was booming at that moment. In 2009, Daniel Sanchez decided it was time to expand Bla Bla to an actual electronic music label.
