It's fair to say that TikTok is more than a passing craze - with over 800 million active users worldwide and a huge focus on sounds and music, it has the potential to have a real impact on your brand and therefore is a platform that labels and artists need to take seriously.

TikTok isn't like other platforms where you can upload a track and hope for the best, there are practical ways you can make sure your music is primed for use in TikTok content and improve your chances of success. If you're an artist or label looking to reach a huge youth audience, then you need to know this.

First things first, what are TikTok videos?

TikTok is a social media video app, it allows users to share creative videos in the form of a 15 - 60 second clip. TikTok comes loaded with various creative features which allow for an unlimited range of imaginative content possibilities - when you know your audience has access to the same tools as you, there is a huge opportunity for interactive content and trend-setting.

How do you get your catalogue featured on TikTok?

TikTok is one of our partner DSPs so if your music is distributed by Label Worx, you're able to opt-in for delivery to this DSP. Once your label is fully opted-in, your music will be available on TikTok for creators to use in their original video content.

Now for the important part: what kind of content should you be making?

Getting the content right is key. If it ticks the right boxes and gets picked up by TikTok's algorithm, you could see huge numbers very quickly. When it comes to incorporating music, getting it right is even more important - here are a few content ideas to help get you started:

- Use your label's music in your videos: This is pretty important - if your music is distributed by Label Worx, your label's music catalogue will be available to use on TikTok sounds. Just remember that you'll need to set the clip up manually via our system to make sure it is appropriate for TikTok.
- Trends: On the discover section of the app, you're able to see trending hashtags. Could you jump on a popular hashtag with some content featuring your label's music?
- Lip-syncing videos: A great way to showcase and promote a release if your track includes catchy lyrics.
- TikTok challenges: Create a dance routine or physical challenge that can be easily replicated using your music as the soundtrack - encourage your fans to participate using the same tags, music and routine and see what happens.
- Be original: Think outside the box and get creative!

Redesigned public Label Copy tool

Our Label Copy tool is something used by labels on a daily basis. This tool enables labels to quickly export label copy for a particular release or track. If you license your music to third parties you will have already realised how important this little feature has become. It is simple but it saves a lot of time! We have now gone one step further and redesigned the public Label Copy tool, with an improvement that now gives you the ability to now generate a link for the Label Copy and email that to your recipients. This public link takes you to a web a page, which contains all of the required label copy information. It even has a download option if your recipient wishes to keep a copy.

We are excited to announce our latest DSP Integration: ACRCloud ACRCloud provides, among other things, automated content recognition ('ACR') of audio and audio-visual content for third party digital service providers and social media partners. ACRCloud has partnered with a number of Partners (including Deezer, AWA, KKBOX, NetEase Cloud Music and Anghami) in order to enable the Partners to scan and fingerprint uploaded content including user generated content ('UGC') before it makes such content available on its service. Once a piece of uploaded content is scanned and fingerprinted, this will additionally help ACRCloud's partners to more effectively identify, and consequently monetize, your content.

New DSP: Soundmouse

We are excited to announce our latest DSP Integration: Soundmouse Soundmouse provides music reporting services to the broadcasting industry. They develop and provide software that reports music usage directly to broadcasters and collecting societies for them to identify the use of the rights owners' copyright material on radio, TV, online and across other media. Using Music Recognition Technology (MRT), Soundmouse listens to key television and radio broadcasts in the UK and across the world to track where our labels' music has been used. It monitors and reports performances across 125 domestic radio stations, as well as international TV & radio stations. Soundmouse also offers cue sheet services on behalf of broadcaster clients. Soundmouse covers several territories around the world, including Ireland, Australia, USA, Denmark, Canada, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, South Korea and Japan. They also analyse broadcast data from 30 channels in three territories: USA with 10 television channels and France and Germany with 5 radio and 5 television channels each.
